McNicholas becomes one of the first companies in the UK to achieve CEMARS certification
McNicholas is now certified to the Achilles Carbon Emissions Management and Reduction Scheme (CEMARS).
CEMARS allows suppliers to measure, manage and report their organisational greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions or Carbon Footprint. The CEMARS scheme is also the only verification scheme that is aligned with the requirements of the International Standard ISO 14064-1 (Greenhouse Gases). McNicholas are one of only nine organisations in the country that have achieved certification, a clear indication of the Company's commitment to reducing their carbon footprint. The benefits of the scheme include:
• Worlds first accredited GHG certification scheme
• Helps us to understand potential risk exposure and keeps us abreast of
potential carbon management legislation
• Addresses Client and other stakeholder concerns
• Helps avoid the cost of energy and fuel price rises through the
implementation of a reduction management plan
• Presents carbon credentials with confidence of accuracy
• Competitive advantage
In order to achieve certification McNicholas provided details on its emission sources and future reduction commitments including a full Emissions Inventory Report, a Disclosure Statement and a Reduction and Management Plan.
