Our people are our most valuable resource. Not only is their safety of paramount importance, so is their general health and wellbeing.
Fit 4 Work, Fit 4 Life, Fit 4 Tomorrow is our health and wellbeing campaign. It is how we hold regular conversations with all our workforce about the importance of looking after ourselves, not just while we’re at work, but at all times.

Our Occupational Health service mandates that everyone working in a safety critical role attends a health assessment which includes an eye test, blood pressure, checks for diabetes and HAVS, lung function assessment and checks for signs of dermatitis. We recently also made this service open to any operational managers. Drop in clinics are held for our office staff.
We also recognise that there may be times when things aren’t quite so good so we want to make sure help is at hand. At McNicholas we offer our employees support through an Employee Assistance helpline (EAP). Employee Assistance offers confidential information, advice and counselling on a variety of personal and workplace issues. At any time an employee, or other family members living with them, can contact the EAP support team.
Our campaign aligns with our occupational health service, which provides support and advice on health issues inside and outside the workplace, we have also signed up to four pledges as part of the Public Health Responsibility Deal, reflecting our commitment to improving health in society as a whole. They are:
