Charity Viking Boat Race

Well we certainly don’t do things by halves! Eleven of our service-layers from Northern Ireland took part in the annual Viking Boat Race in Belfast on Sunday 2nd May to raise money for the children’s charity NSPCC.

Captain Sean Morris rallied his crew to be in ship shape condition for the day; providing no training and only a pre-row burger to set them up for the big race! Despite this, their motivation to work hard for their sponsorship money (and a fair amount of determination for good measure) saw ‘Team McNicholas’ set the pace in the time trials. They took their place in the finals against some clear rowing professionals, and again their grit to succeed shone through, which saw them take the first prize!

All jokes aside, the team worked hard and managed to raise a fantastic £715 for a great cause. Well done.
